Ghost Lit Kingdom Release Eclectic EP: I Was Born
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Off the heels of a successful first West Coast Tour, the alternative band, Ghost Lit Kingdom released their debut EP, I Was Born. The collection includes their breakout singles, "You Don't Know Me" and "Our Bodies", alongside their title track, "I Was Born". The EP has a varying range of style and sound that demonstrates the band's diverse palate. I Was Born EP is available now on iTunes.

The most refreshing aspect of Ghost Lit Kingdom's music is that the band always keeps fans on their toes with a comprehensive and eclectic catalogue. The band's first single, "You Don't Know Me" tells of the struggle between acceptance and moral individuality through an almost "coming of age" type story. It illustrates the victory over conforming to the common expectations and the hardships that come along with that decision. With epic vocal harmonies and giant soundscapes, the track has earned the band comparison to acts like Arcade Fire and Of Monsters and Men. "Our Bodies" shifts directions with a more soothing, atmospheric vibe that is driven by a captivating chorus hook. This single celebrates the unlikely triumph of romance in consideration of the increasing difficulty to make personal connections with others in our current world. The vocal interweaving of this single builds the closing canvas that makes the track truly memorable. The brand new song, "I Was Born" is a sort of self-reflection in which the singer discusses a figurative out of body experience. Opening with a lush a capella section that will remind listeners of Imogen Heap, "I Was Born" is filled with rich imagery and the well-crafted instrumentation to match it. "You Don't Know Me" was mixed by Ken Andrews (Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, Beck), while "Our Bodies" and "I Was Born" were produced by Charlie Park and Nick Zagorin, who recorded all three tracks at Suburban Soul Studios.

Ela Kitapci met and befriended Taylor Morrow in 2010 the two immediately began writing music together. Playing shows as a duo at first, the two realized they would need a larger band to create the music they began to envision together. In 2014, they would recruit Michael Sevilla to assist on guitar, Andrew Furze on bass and Jason Rodriguez on drums, to form Ghost Lit Kingdom. The band has performed at venues such as The Troubadour, Viper Room, The Mint and recently played at the Serenity Gathering Festival. Having formed a collective that commands the attention of listeners with such power and intensity, Ghost Lit Kingdom has quickly proved to be a band on the rise, as they grace the pages of magazines and websites. Music Connection Magazine recently featured the band noting their "variety of genres and angelic vocals".

Ghost Lit Kingdom's debut EP is composed of a patchwork of traits that are unexpected but extremely rewarding together, forming a cohesive and resonant sonic landscape. The most common element in all the tracks is the ability to grab listeners and never let go, typically culminating in the urge to sing along.
