New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, IHEARTCOMIX announces the launch of the IHEARTCOMIX sample pack, available at the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library, along with a companion online music creation competition hosted on Indaba Music.
The IHEARTCOMIX sample pack provides a major contribution to the 20,000+ free-to-use samples already available in the Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library - a groundbreaking new online resource for musicians launched in February by Converse in partnership with Indaba Music.
With 1,000+ samples, the new pack features IHC 1NFINITY artists Pictureplane, Mark Redito fka Spazzkid and Gavin Turek, as well as renowned rapper Heems and IHC founder Franki Chan. The samples were created utilizing an impressive array of rare and vintage equipment at Big
Orange Studio in Austin TX including a 1973 Minimoog Model D, Farfisa Fast 3 and, the original drum machine, the Maestro Rhythm King MRK-2. In addition to the recorded instruments, live vocals by rapper Heems and R&B Soulstress Gavin Turek elevate the jam's uniqueness giving users a diverse palate of authentic sounds found nowhere else. The original recording session took place on March 20, 2015 as part of the Converse Rubber Tracks' Pop-Up during SXSW.
"All of these artists brought their own style to the table during the jam session. They represent a broad range of genres, and the sounds and influences in this session allow for endless interpretation by anyone who uses them in their own productions. We had so much fun recording the session and can't wait to hear what people make with these sounds."- Franki Chan
In conjunction with the sample pack, users are encouraged to submit their original songs to the IHEARTCOMIX Sample Session contest hosted by Indaba Music. Each submission will be judged by all artists who participated in the IHC Sample Session and prizes include $1000 cash, original IHEARTCOMIX artwork illustrated and signed by Franki Chan, Converse gift cards, and being featured on IHC and Indaba Music's social platforms.
"It was incredible having access to so many unique instruments! This was the highlight of my SXSW so... Thank you! Thank you Converse! - Gavin Turek
