SEATTLE, WA. (Loudeye Corp./ www.loudeye.com) - Loudeye Corp., a worldwide leader in business-to-business digital media solutions, today announced it was selected by Music Choice, the premier, multi-platform music network, to provide content ingestion, encoding, editing, watermarking and delivery services to support the launch of Music Choice's on-demand music video services for cable subscribers.

Through its advanced media center and seven years of digital media experience, Loudeye is able to rapidly process and deliver hundreds of music videos to the exact specifications necessary for decoding on set top boxes as part of the Music Choice service. Each week, Loudeye receives the licensed content either digitally or on tape from Music Choice and its partners. Loudeye then encodes the videos into CableLab MPEG format, watermarks and edits them to include Music Choice's branding and artist data specifications, and delivers them to Music Choice for broadcast through its cable partners.
"We are excited about offering a broad selection of high quality music videos on our new video music network," said Damon Williams, Senior Director of Programming for Music Choice. "By utilizing Loudeye's expertise in content digitization, we are able to expand our catalog of music videos in a very short period of time."

The services leverage Loudeye's advanced digital audio/video router and broadcast quality video infrastructure to deliver high quality video output for Music Choice's on-demand service. Additionally, Loudeye's production systems and technology enable the rapid processing of Music Choice's content, helping meet the high volumes of music videos licensed to Music Choice that need to be prepared for the service.
"This deal with Music Choice highlights the scalability and flexibility of our high-end video infrastructure and media center to support a wide range of new business models, including those in the emerging cable and high definition video markets," said Jeff Cavins, Loudeye's president and chief executive officer.
"Music Choice is an early leader in this market and we look forward to continuing our work with them as they approach the launch of their on-demand service."
