New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It's been 50 years since Fiddler on the Roof first appeared on Broadway. As this timeless story makes its way back to stage for its historic anniversary, perhaps there is no better way to kick off the season than to announce
Kelly Hall-Tompkins' participation as violin soloist and concertmaster for the production.
A South Carolina Native turned New Yorker and founder of New York's
Music Kitchen, Hall-Tompkins has made a name for herself worldwide for her mastery of the violin and command performances. Her passionate performances of the Ysaye Solo Sonata #6 and her arrangement of "Pure Imagination" from the original film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" have generated over 800,000 views on her YouTube channel. Entitled "Imagination," the
Music Video Album was also released on Collector's Edition DVD.
"As an artist, I love drawing upon all of the influential sounds in my experience. This show gives me the creative opportunity to draw from a rich array indeed!" said Hall-Tompkins. "From my Russian/Jewish classical repertoire to the great American songbook, from Bartok to Jazz ballad, from
John Williams to Strauss Ein Heldenleben and yes, of course, a bit of Hollywood too!"
Working with a Tony Award winning team, Conductor and Orchestrator Ted Sperling and
Director Bartlett Sher, Hall-Tompkins is inspired by the film's adaptation and more specifically, Isaac Stern's performance, and feels honored to be able to bring her own voice and sound to the role.
This amazing 2-hour and 45 minute show (with one intermission) opened to rave reviews December 20, 2015 and has 2 daily showtimes at The Broadway Theatre, 1681 Broadway at 53rd, New York, NY.
