LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Southern California-based Country Americana singer-songwriter, ALICE WALLACE, released her third album - Memories, Music & Pride late last year via California Country Records, the independent label started by Kirsten Proffit & Manda Mosher of CALICO the band. Today popular country destination THE BOOT is thrilled to present the premiere of Alices first video from MEMORIES, MUSIC & PRIDE, I Just Dont Care Anymore. Watch via The Boot.
I Just Dont Care Anymore is a rocking, sassy anthem about taking charge of your life in spite of your circumstances. WALLACE further details, This is a song that came after the worst breakup Ive ever had. I wrote a lot of songs about that breakup, but I wrote this one knowing it would be the very last song I would write about it - because I just didnt care anymore. Its probably my favorite track on the new record because it has punch, it has energy, and it conveys exactly what I wanted it to.
WALLACE possesses a classic country vibe, but with a distinctive California style. She is inspired by the legends; Dolly, Emmy Lou and Patsy Cline, while her style is reminiscent of Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams and a young Linda Ronstadt. New sounds extolling timeless emotions; all of the songs on the album were crafted during the past two years WALLACE spent touring the country most times by herself.
I like blues, I like folk, I like country, WALLACE explains. This album touches on all of those. Ive tried to bridge the gap between my influences in old-time country with newer artists like Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell, artists whove opened my eyes to what modern country can be.
If the critical praise is any indication, shes done just that! In their album review, No Depression declared, Memories, Music & Pride" proves Alice Wallace is One of Americana's Elite Artists. While recently, the LA Music Critics nominated Alices new album in two categories; Best CD Female and Best Country/Americana Artist having bestowed the later Award just this month.
WALLACE, a die-hard road dog, played well over 200 live shows last year, from one end of the country to the other. This year is shaping up to be much the same with an added excursion, in March, for her first dates in the UK. Alice will be appearing at the Country to Country Festival in London March 13th, which is headlined by artists like Dwight Yoakam, Chris Stapleton and Kacey Musgraves. Shell be back on U.S. roads this summer - keep your ears open for this girl youll be glad you did.
