Releases by Gorillaz, Air, At The Drive In, Ryan Adams, Bilal, White Stripes, and Foxy Brown
are among the nominees for the first-ever Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement in Music, which, last month, is designed to honor contemporary music's most creative and adventurous releases.
The honor, patterned after the U.K.'s Mercury Music
Prize, will be handed out Oct. 30 in Los Angeles.
