John Michael Montgomery paid tribute to our nation's veterans during the American Veterans Center's
National Memorial Day
Parade on Monday on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. with a heartfelt LIVE performance of his poignant and patriotic ballad, "Letters From Home."
Before a packed crowd of thousands of wounded and non-wounded veterans, their families, current members of the armed forces and U.S. Pentagon officials, Montgomery delivered a moving acoustic performance of "Letters From Home," which is hailed as one of the most powerful tributes to the connection between soldiers and their families ever recorded. The song is the title track of his ninth studio album, and reached No. 2 on the Country Billboard charts in 2004.
"I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to perform at an event like this," said Montgomery. "Any time I can come out and show support for our nation's heroes, I feel like it's time well spent. There's no more important job in existence. I'm remembering them this Memorial Day, and every day."

More than 1,000 active duty military personnel participated in the monumental event, including wounded veterans from the War on Terror who have received specially adapted homes from non-profit organization, Helping A Hero.
