New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Get ready for musical fireworks on January 27th at the Arts Garage! Setting the bandstand alight that evening will be Grammy Award winning trumpeter Brian Lynch and his group Spheres Of Influence. This dynamic quintet exhibits a blend of Latin fire and hard bop savior-faire that reflects its leader's pedigree in both the jazz (Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Phil Woods) and Latin/world music (Eddie Palmieri) fields. Spheres Of Influence's repertoire mixes modern jazz, Afro-Caribbean, and world music traditions in original works and arrangements by Lynch. Featured in this performance will be selections from Brian's current Grammy-nominated album, "Madera Latino," which pays tribute in Latin Jazz style to the legendary jazz trumpeter Woody Shaw.
