NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - Directed by famed European concert director Mirko
Cocco (Destiny's Child, Cypress Hill, Live) and mixed in brilliant 5.1 surround sound, "Live At Paradiso" is a 10-camera shoot that finally captures what hardcore Hart fans have known all along - she's one in a million. The DVD clocks in at 130+ minutes.
In May of 2004, Beth returned to Amsterdam for a triumphant packed-to-the-rafters performance at Paradiso, one of the city's most beautiful concert halls. Having just come off her European tour, Beth and her band were ready to shake things up and did not disappoint. "Live At Paradiso" is a bone-chilling concert film that faithfully captures the magic of that very night and much more.
The ornate surroundings of one of the city's oldest convert venues - complete with radiant light from the hall's stained glass windows - provide Beth and her band with the perfect setting for rip-roaring renditions of her hits from her most recent album "Leave The Light On," as well as familiar songs like "L.A. Song," "Am I The One," "Delicious Surprise" and blow-the-roof off versions of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "Monkey Back."
Speaking about "Live At Paradiso," Beth says, "I'm all about live. The live show is always better than the recorded music. What I love the most about this DVD is that it showcases all of what this new album project is about. It shows the hard side, the soft side, the cockiness, the honesty... it's very, very open. And that's what makes it work for anybody... whether they're old friends or new fans. This DVD really captures the colors of all 3 of my albums."
The DVD also features some great bonus features including a new intimate 35-minute behind-the-scenes view of Beth's stay in Amsterdam leading up to the concert, and solo piano performances of "Sky Full of Clover," "World Without You," "Leave the Light On," "Lifetime" and more. Also included are extensive new interviews, a live version of Humble Pie's "I Don't Need No Doctor," and photo montages.
Billboard calls Beth Hart, "The stuff of icons." Rolling Stone says, "Beth channels the spirit of Janis Joplin." "Live At Paradiso" finally makes good on both these promises.
