MUNICH, Germany (Peter Maffay PR Team) - On 10th March 2005, the Fred Jay Prize for German-language songwriters was awarded for the seventeenth time in Munich. The jury of the Fred Jay Prize selected the artist Peter Maffay as this year's winner.

The prize is aimed at artists, who have chosen a career in the field of the popular German-language song, earned themselves a reputation for the creation and promotion of German lyrics and managed to score successes in the media.

The presentation ceremony will be held on Thursday, 10th March 2005 in the "K�nstlerhaus" at Lenbachplatz 8 in 80333 Munich.

Members of the Fred Jay Prize jury are: Prof. Dr. Reinhold Kreile, Chairman, Prof. Christian Bruhn, Hartmut Engler (PUR), Dieter Thomas Heck, Hans Hee, Mary Jay-Jacobson, Heinz Rudolf Kunze and Lena Valaitis.
