NEW YORK (SONY BMG) - Sony BMG artist Ciara (pronounced See-air-ra) debuted at No.1 in the UK National Chart this week with her single 'Goodies' knocking Elvis Presley off the Top spot. After taking the number one position for two weeks in a row with reissues of former chart No.1's, the ghost of Elvis Presley gets a rude awakening with what was expected to be another number. The tables were turned over the weekend with a late surge of sales of 'Goodies', the majority which were taken on Saturday. Ciara's 'Goodies' spent seven weeks at number one in the US last year and is the first crunk'n'b record to be fronted by a female. 'Goodies' is the first single from Ciara's debut album of the same name scheduled for UK release on January 31st 2005. In addition to cuts produced by Lil' Jon, the album also finds the young artist in the studio with Jazze Pha (Outkast) at the controls, producer Sean Garrett (Usher) and Johnta Austin (Aaliyah). The album also features guest appearances by Missy Elliot and Ludacris. For Further Information Please contact Zoe Stafford 07961 322 123
