Black Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert. Curated by Curtis King through partnership with CBS11 KTXA, the 34th Annual
Black Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert dramatized and reflected on the life and legacy of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. through narration, music and dance. The concert tribute has received four Emmy nominations honoring its production and performances featuring special guest artists, B.SLADE, BILAL, EARNEST PUGH and MALIK YOBA along with the TBAAL 200-voice concert choir.
With over 20 years in the music industry, in-demand singer, songwriter and producer B.SLADE was honored and humbled to receive his Emmy Award:

As a prominent songwriter and producer, B. SLADE has worked with some of the biggest artists in the music industry, including
Chaka Khan ("I Love Myself"),
Sheila E. ("
Fiesta"),
Faith Evans ("
Paradise"), and Angie Fisher, for which he wrote and co-produced her 2014 debut smash hit single, "I.R.S.", garnering Ms. Fisher's first and B.SLADE's third Grammy nomination. B.SLADE also co-wrote and co-produced actress & singer Tisha Campbell-Martin's single, "Steel Here", and is credited for closely working on the entirety of Mrs. Campbell-Martin's upcoming album release. B.SLADE was instrumental in creating legendary singer Chaka Khan's 2017 single "I Love Myself" (written and produced by B.SLADE), which was featured on the final season of Netflix's hit show "The Get Down". He is also featured as a guest vocalist and songwriter/producer on Snoop Dogg's upcoming gospel album, "Bible of Love", and its lead single, "Words Are Few" was written and produced by B.SLADE.
