Electronic Music Multi-Instrumentalist/Producer Gryffin Announced As The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival Headliner For 3 Winning Colleges From Across The Nation
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Sunday, February 4th, the Up & Up Festival posted on their Instagram a call-to-action to colleges nationwide to compete in their Spring challenge for LA-based producer/musician GRYFFIN as the headliner of the crowdfunded music festival.

Returning for its fourth run, The Up & Up will bring GRYFFIN to the campuses of three colleges which preorder the most preorders in the 48-hour time frame. Up & Up Festival managing partner Steven Ljubicic says, "We're decentralizing the current system of how concerts are booked at colleges and challenging the way a ticket is sold. This memorable experience will go to the student communities who most demand him. It's a win/win for the students, artist and client team." GRYFFIN is a multi-instrumentalist producer/DJ whose success lies in delivering an unmatched stage show that molds together electronic music with dynamic live performance.

The Up & Up Festival has featured breakthrough EDM artists in the past, such as Cash Cash and Alan Walker, who were most demanded by the students. Popularly requested this year from the annual student survey, GRYFFIN has produced chart-topping music including his debut single "Heading Home" ft. Josef Salvat which grabbed the #1 spot on Spotify's US and Global Viral charts, hit song "Feel Good" featuring the vocal talents of Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Daya, and GRYFFIN's latest track "Nobody Compares To You" featuring Katie Pearlman which has racked up over 24 million plays on Spotify alone.

The competition to bring GRYFFIN to college campuses will begin March 7, 2018 at 4pm, EST. Students can sign up now at https://upandupfestival.com/. In order to win the competition, colleges and universities will work to secure the most preorders within a 48-hour window. Credit cards are only charged to the winning colleges. The credit card authorizations of non-winning schools are immediately released. Student leaders from the winning schools helping secure the venue and the schools to talent to open for GRYFFIN.

Within an hour, the students at ten colleges swarmed the Up & Up Festival Instagram page, tagging their influencer friends on campus about entering the contest. Schools included previous winners: San Jose State, UC Davis, University of Texas-Austin, WSU & Wake Forest, plus groups from Baylor, UC Berkeley, University of Dayton, Indiana State & Missouri State University about bringing Up & Up experience to their school. Dozens more such as CU Boulder, UC Santa Barbara, Loyola Chicago & The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have since signed up, and instantly went on to create Facebook Event pages. What does GRYFFIN think about the Up & Up concept? "When I first heard about the concept behind 'Up and Up Festival,' I thought it was such an awesome idea having colleges compete for concerts and think it's a great way to bring schools together through music. I personally started producing music while I was in college and I've always enjoyed playing for students because of their raw energy and I cannot wait to play for the winning schools."

The Up & Up is more than just a concert experience. It strives to be a platform for students to enter into the entertainment industry whether it is through their many industry partners or paid internships in their L.A. offices. Avnish Patel, Robert Martin & David Nguyen, the winning trio from San Jose State University are all interning for the company this semester. When asked how it is to now work behind the scenes was for this on-demand college festival, they went on to collectively say: "Being able to inspire other student ambassadors is one of the best ways to spread awareness about how they can bring an exhilarating event to their campus and community."

About The Up & Up Festival
An innovative, on-demand initiative where major U.S. colleges compete to win and produce their own music festival featuring a national headlining artist. Debuting in 2016 with two regional festivals featuring Cash Cash, it doubled to four winning schools in 2017 with DJ/Producer Alan Walker, resulting in over 5,000 preorders in 48 hours without even a date or location. The Up & Up Festival team mentors and provides the necessary resources for the students—empowering them with a true sense of ownership and fostering community at each event. As the tagline says, STUDENT WON, STUDENT-RUN.

About GRYFFIN
Originally from the San Francisco area, GRYFFIN began his musical journey by taking up piano at age seven. In high school, he added guitar to his repertoire in addition to writing his own music for the first time. While studying electrical engineering at University of Southern California, GRYFFIN broadened his sonic palette by diving into the world of electronic music and teaching himself production. Last year, the L.A.-based producer delivered two heavy-hitting singles that showcased his deeply melodic take on dance music. With both tracks built on a graceful fusion of indie and electronic elements, "Heading Home (ft. Josef Salvat)" shot to #1 on Spotify's US and Global Viral charts, while "Whole Heart" (a collaboration with Bipolar Sunshine) hit #2 on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist. Also known for turning out several of the biggest remixes in recent years—including his masterly reworkings of Tove Lo's "Talking Body," CHVRCHES' "Clearest Blue," and Years & Years' "Desire"—GRYFFIN is now offering up his latest original track and bringing his boundary-shattering artistry to bold new heights. "Feel Good," is packed with a hypnotic melody, massive beats, and a emotionally charged vocal showcase from Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Daya.
