NoMBe Drops "Psych-Funk" (i-D) Banger "Drama," From Year-Long Femininity-Inspired Project 'They Might've Even Loved Me'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Electric Soul prodigy NoMBe (Noah McBeth) will release his debut album, 'They Might've Even Loved Me' on March 23 as the first release on TH3RD BRAIN Records.
'They Might've Even Loved Me' began as an open-ended experiment which the LA-based upstart would release "single by single, month-to month, until he ran out of love songs." Each song on the album tells a different story about the women who have shaped NoMBe's life, from his godmother, Chaka Khan, to high school crushes, summer flings, his girlfriend, and his mother. Each is a chapter of a narrative about love, intimacy, sex, heartbreak and euphoria.

In the same way that Prince embraced the electric guitar as a medium for his vision without regard for genre, NoMBe's electric guitar-driven sound glides effortlessly through electronic pop, soul, blues, funk and contemporary indie rock, reminiscent of acts like Daft Punk, Jimi Hendrix, MGMT, The XX, Electric Guest, Milky Chance and Lenny Kravitz. On stage, NoMBe (electric guitar, vocals) delivers an electrifying, red-blooded live show alongside his three-piece all-female band, fully realizing his musical project as a tribute to femininity, honoring female wisdom, power and knowledge.

NoMBe's latest song "Drama" is an irresistibly smooth, cheeky musing on the theatre of romantic turmoil. NoMBe's subdued, winking vocals, combined with the song's atmospheric production and seductive beat (courtesy of electronic act, Big Data), give a cinematic, summer-nights vibe to the chilled-out, understated banger.

i-D calls "Drama": "... a soulful rock and roll tune that threads together highlife-inspired psych-funk with the sugary sound of Pharrell's "Marilyn Monroe."

Listen exclusively via i-D.
Noah McBeth was born and raised Heidelberg, Germany by his grandparents, coming of age in the hip-hop scene, experimenting with production, DJing and rapping. At age 19, he took a school trip to Las Vegas, telling the sponsors he only needed a one-way ticket, determined to pursue a music career in the U.S. Noah moved between Miami, New York, Montreal and LA, playing in bands and taking any production gigs he could find, until in 2013, TH3RD BRAIN's Wade Davis discovered NoMBe's "California Girls" online and tracked him down, determined to work with the young artist.

Since then, Noah has become NoMBe and his 13 singles out so far that have already racked up over 120 million streams, scored nine #1s on Hype Machine, and been cheered on by Stereogum, Pigeons and Plane, COMPLEX, Earmilk, Consequence of Sound and others. NoMBe's 18-track debut is a highly anticipated release from the rising artist.

A long way from his days scrapping for production gigs, Pharrell recently selected NoMBe to write the theme song to the HBO Documentary 'Outpost' saying "NoMBe makes music for the subconscious with colorful layers and unexpected water slides. He writes and produces dream sequences."

Following up a sold-out run of shows in November at LA's The Echo and NYC's Rough Trade, NoMBe will return to SXSW this year as an official showcase artist, serve as direct support for alt-J in Denver on April 7 and play a headlining show in his hometown at LA's Troubadour on May 16.

NoMBe is managed by Jake Udell and Michael Gaertner at TH3RD BRAIN and booked by Devin Landau and Ryan Craven at Paradigm Talent Agency.

NoMBe 2018 tour dates:
Mar. 14 / Austin, TX / SXSW / The Blackheart / Communion Showcase
Mar. 15 / Austin, TX / SXSW / Peppermint Club / We Found New Music Showcase
May 16 / Los Angeles, CA / Troubadour
