New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This fall, the producers of the acclaimed documentary "Take Me To The River NOLA" will present an extensive nationwide tour, which - like the film itself - will bring together multiple generations of iconic New Orleans musicians, and chart the musical evolution of the region while exploring the unique influence of the New Orleans music to the entire world. This tour and film is the follow up to the inaugural, award winning "Take Me to the River" project which featured musicians of
Memphis and the Mississippi, which included historic performances at Bonnaroo, SXSW and a 40 city SOLD OUT tour.
The New Orleans tour will feature the legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan + Ian Neville from Dumpstaphunk, the Grammy Award winner,
George Porter Jr. of the Meters, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, 2017 Grammy Award winners Lost Bayou Ramblers, the 79rs Gang and Terence Higgins rounding out the bill, all sharing one stage for a historic performance. Full list of tour dates included below.
In addition to performance events, the tour will also host educational workshops and activities for students as it moves around the country, helping to inspire the goals of social consciousness and community building.

George Porter Jr. of the Meters is one of the most important figures in New Orleans music and in the funk movement. His mind-blowing skills as a bassist have influenced generations of musicians. During the course of a career spanning more then four decades, Porter Jr. has not only made a deep impression with his work in the Meters but he's notched session work with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett,
David Byrne, Patti LaBelle,
Robbie Robertson and live performances with Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann,
Warren Haynes and
John Scofield just to name a few. Early in his career, Porter Jr. worked with seminal New Orleans artists like Allen Toussaint, Earl King, Lee Dorsey, and Johnny Adams, Irma Thomas, The Lastie Brothers — again to only name a few.
GRAMMY WINNERS Lost Bayou Ramblers' evolution as a perversely progressive band rooted in Cajun traditions continues to excite, challenge, and redefine both genre expectations as well as cultural preconceptions. Produced by Korey Richey (LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire) their latest studio album, Kalenda, was released in 2017 on Rice Pump Records.
Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, one of the most dedicated, respected and talented - as a singer, composer, recording artists, designer and sewer - decades-long chiefs in the Mardi Gras Indian Nation, is heralded not only in his hometown of New Orleans but around the world. The leader of the Golden Eagles, a Mardi Gras Indian tribe of New Orleans, Louisiana, Boudreaux was born in New Orleans on
Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941. Boudreaux is a vital figure in the tradition, and has steadfastly distinguished himself as a gifted folk artist and dynamic performing musician through his unwavering dedication to this singular African American culture. Boudreaux can be seen portraying himself in several episodes of HBO's original series Treme.
Joining the stage with these legends will be acclaimed drummer Terence Higgins and the 79rs Gang, featuring Big Chief Jermaine Bossier of the 7th Ward Creole Hunters and
Romeo Bougere, chief of the 9th Ward Hunter gang.
