New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Montreal-based singer-songwriter, Raayon, today releases the music video for her debut single "332 Miles" via Universal Music. Directed by Cynthia Caraz the music video exclusively premiered on August 8 - watch it on Top40-Charts.com.

Currently featured on Spotify's Montreal Chill playlist, and Apple Music's Made In Quebec playlist, "332 Miles" was released in July as Raayon's debut single with Universal Music. On the single, Raayon said: "I wrote this song while going through a tough time with a love interest about being the side chick. It's my ego talking. It's about still feeling lust towards this person throughout a messed-up situation. I honoured the feelings I had in that particular moment." In its first few weeks of release, "332 Miles" hit the Top 30 on Spotify's Canada Viral 50 chart.

Vulnerability, empowerment and sexual liberation - three words that 25-year-old Montreal native Raayon uses to describe her music. Priding her music as songs that are reflections on relationships she's had with people - intimate, friendships, family, strangers - and the experiences she's been through. In her own words, Raayon says: "I'm self-reflective and try to be as authentic and vulnerable as possible, if it makes me slightly uncomfortable to show my lyrics, then it's usually a good sign."

Introduced to jazz at a young age by her mother, Raayon remembers being deeply moved by iconic female vocalists such as Nina Simone and Etta James - reflecting on the childhood days when the vibrations of the soulful singers would take over her entire house. She also cites more contemporary artists like SZA, Jorja Smith and Kali Uchis as inspirations. The emotional state reached by listening to these jazz and soulful singers lead her to develop a strong connection to music 'as if it released emotions and things she couldn't otherwise articulate or express' and inspires Raayon in her own music. Stay tuned for more music from Raayon this summer.
