Lynn Henderson's Tribute Show Adds Special Guest Sara Caswell!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer Lynn Henderson just announced the addition of a very special guest for the final performance of her show, A Skitch in Time: My Friendship with Maestro Skitch Henderson. The show is a tribute to the New York Pops founder who built the Pops from an idea to a beloved international institution. For the November 17th performance at Don't Tell Mama, 2018 Grammy nominee and New York Pops Violinist, Sara Caswell, will appear. Sara is a Skitch Henderson discovery who joined the Pops right out of college.

Since then she has played with top artists including Bruce Springsteen, Esperanza Spalding, Charlie Byrd, Regina Carter, Jenny Scheinman, Roseanna Vitro and Brad Mehldau to name only a few music luminaries. Sara's two groups (the Sara Caswell Quartet and the Caswell Sisters Quintet) have performed in venues ranging from Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club Coca Cola to university concert halls nationwide. She has released three CDs, including one in 2013 with her sister, vocalist Rachel Caswell. "Alive in the Singing Air" featured jazz pianist Fred Hersch, garnered rave reviews and was selected by jazz critic Thomas Cunniffe as one of the year's "Best Vocal CDs" on Jazz History Online. "First Song" (Double-Time Records, 2000) and "But Beautiful" (Arbors Records, 2005), were recognized in several year-end best-of jazz album releases.

Lynn Henderson and Skitch were not related, despite their same last name. After bonding over music at a benefit in their shared Connecticut town, Skitch assisted Lynn as she created a show about his friend, Cole Porter, for a local club with a cast ranging in age from five to eighty five. Later, Lynn and her musicians brought her cabaret shows to Hunt Hill Farm- the cooking school, store and gallery which were the Connecticut home of Skitch and his wife, Ruth. This show played to enthusiastic audiences at Don't Tell Mama last spring, and at a benefit for Hunt Hill in August.

A Skitch in Time: My Friendship with Maestro Skitch Henderson is directed by the renowned actress and singer, Klea Blackhurst, with Musical Direction by Douglas J. Cohen, with Bob Sabin on bass. The final show of 2018 is November 17th at 4pm. There's a $20 cover charge and a 2 drink minimum per person. Don't Tell Mama is a CASH ONLY room at 343 West 46th Street, NYC.
