New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Dillon Carmichael, Spotify Hot Country and the
National Future Farmers of American Organization (FFA) "Give Thanks" to the real life families who devote their lives to farming and God-given resources each day. Filmed at Whiteland, IN's Kelsay Family Farms, Carmichael and fellow country artist Logan Mize get back to the heart of what influenced their music.
It may come as no surprise that a young man raised in a small town in Kentucky (Burgin, population 900) grew up participating in FFA. For Carmichael, the organization became his community — from becoming treasurer to the FFA Convention, FFA camp, FFA talent shows and more.
This October, Carmichael performed at the 91st
National FFA Convention, which is where he first saw
Toby Keith perform many years ago. "I was surrounded by two things growing up: agriculture and music," says Carmichael. "I had family who were farmers and in agribusiness. The majority of my experience through agriculture was through FFA. For my family, there's a lot of people who worked really hard and wanted to embed that for generations."
Carmichael released his Dave Cobb-produced LP 'Hell On An Angel' on Oct. 26, and has been recently featured in The New York Times Fall Preview (alongside Eric Church), The FADER, Rolling Stone Country, American Songwriter, CMT's artist discovery, CMT Must See Indie Artists and more.
