Alfie Templeman Shares New Video For "Yellow Flowers," Debut EP Out Now
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 15 year-old Bedfordshire songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alfie Templeman today shared the video for new track 'Yellow Flowers', taken from his debut EP Like An Animal - out now on Chess Club. Templeman plays every instrument heard on the EP and put together the whole release in his bedroom - a homage to his DIY heroes Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco and Steve Lacy. The video is currently streaming via Wonderland.

The 'Yellow Flowers' video was shot by The Marshall Darlings - known for their work with artists such as The Magic Gang, Pixx and Gengahr - in Templeman's hometown, the village of Carlton, where he still lives with his parents and recorded the Like An Animal EP entirely in his bedroom out of school hours. Much like the video for Templeman's acclaimed debut single 'Like An Animal', the 'Yellow Flowers' visual is a homespun affair, filmed in the living room at his granddad's place - who just so happens to live opposite him. The fixed frame video captures Templeman as a one-man band in the truest sense; playing every single instrument, exactly as he did on his remarkable debut EP release, with his granddad and his friends appearing in and out of shots.

Explaining his love for the video, Templeman said: "Shooting 'Yellow Flowers' was such a brilliant experience as I was surrounded with my family at one of my favourite places - my grandad's home. I think it really captures the image of how I record, that homely and countryside vibe myself and the crew set out for."

The first single from the EP 'Like An Animal' was premiered as Jack Saunders' 'Next Wave' before being made his 'Tune of the Week', and also received Annie Mac's coveted 'New Name' on BBC Radio 1. The single was lauded by The Observer as a 'Hot Track', and Templeman was instantly labelled a 'Breaking Act' in The Sunday Times' Culture supplement, who summed up the EP by saying: "If this is what he can come up with alone in his room at the age of 15, he has to be one to watch closely." 'Like An Animal' also received rave reviews from online tastemakers Clash Magazine, DIY Magazine, Dork and The Line of Best Fit, as well as support from John Kennedy and Matt Wilkinson on Radio X and Beats1 respectively. To date Templeman has amassed almost 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone with adds to the New Music Friday, All New Indie, Lo-fi Indie and Fresh Finds playlists - featuring as the cover star on both of the latter.

Indie Shuffle raved, "'Like An Animal' is a cauldron of swooning guitars, moody lyrics and lush vocals, with the 15-year-old Templeman defying his age with some quality songwriting,", while Cool Hunting noted "Its chemistry doesn't just come from the fact that UK teen Alfie Templeman plays every instrument on "Like an Animal"; it's that the singer's voice carries such soul."

Templeman first began releasing music at age 13, bringing life to fully formed tracks in between school classes. Templeman's captivating songwriting on Like An Animalreveals a creative confidence and vision beyond his years, and continues to attract new fans and supporters eager to see what's next. "Making music and meeting new people has been the best time of my life as I've realised who I want to be and how I want to sound," writes Templeman, "and this EP is a great introduction to the beginning of this journey."
