SPQR Examine Artistic Self-doubt On Crushing New Single 'Our Mother's Sons'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Liverpool-based alt/art-rock trio SPQR return with their heaviest single to date, crushing self-doubt anthem 'Our Mother's Sons', released 15th February 2019 on Modern Sky UK.

The band also played their first ever London headline show last week at Windmill Brixton as part of producer Margo Broom's (Fat White Family, Goat Girl, Dead Pretties & more) Living Room Live series.

Commenting on the track, front man Peter Harrison says: "It's a heavier one, but then a really gentle one too. I think it captures those opposing mental states well: the burst of anger and frustration that needs to come out, and then the quiet contemplation of why.

"The main theme of this song comes from thinking of the people that I know who are all very special and talented, but who have to wade through all this horrible shit that makes them struggle and doubt themselves. You know when you see the lovely things in people but they never will? That. Seems like a theme among the people I love."

The band's previous singles 'Blood Pump' and 'Slowly' were added to the Alt. Rocked., New Music Friday, All New Indie, New Indie & Alt, and The Punk List Spotify playlists, receiving further support from The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, The Quietus, Discovered Magazine, BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio, Amazing Radio and more.

Produced by Margo Broom at Hermitage Works Studios (Fat White Family, Goat Girl, Dead Pretties & more) the single is the latest taste of new material from the band since stand-alone single 'Blood Pump' released in 2018, following their 2017 EP, The House That Doubt Built.

SPQR announced their signing to Modern Sky Records (The Blinders, Calva Louise, SPINN, The Slow Readers Club etc) in late 2018 and are already booked to appear at Liverpool Sound City Festival in May this year, with further live dates TBA.

SPQR Live Dates:
29.03.19 - Liverpool - Arts Club Loft
03.05.19 - 05.05.19 - Liverpool - Liverpool Sound City Festival 2019
