Discussing the carefree feelings of being young and living life without thinking about the consequences, '5 Years' was written by the female production duo alongside singer-songwriter Carys Selvey, supported by
Clash Magazine and BBC
Radio 1, after a conversation about where the musicians were going with their lives led to the inspiration for writing the song.
The duo consists of

Annie Wagstaff, born in Surrey, who came together simply uploading cover videos Instagram. Within a year, HANNIE have gained over 300,000 Instagram followers and collaborated with major music brands such as Ableton, JBL and Yamaha and fashion brands Nasty Gal, River Island and Pepe Jeans.
When explaining the meaning behind the track, HANNIE stated: "It's all about living in the now, stopping overthinking everything and just jump into situations and see what life brings! We often beat yourselves up thinking is this the right thing to do or not, but we should just let life take us where it takes us."
