Kamikaze Girls Announce Name Change To Cultdreams
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lo-fi punk/shoegaze duo Kamikaze Girls are today announcing that they have changed their name to CULTDREAMS and are busy working on new music.

The pair are currently in the studio recording their second album, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2017 breakthrough debut album Seafoam, and will be revealing further details of new music and live appearances later this year.

In a short statement, the band explained their decision on social media:

"Hey friends. We've decided to change our band name after it was brought to our attention that the used of the word 'kamikaze' could be insensitive to others, given the origins of the word and its cultural history.

"We always strive to learn and do better both as musicians and people, and want to encourage inclusivity and more open dialogue regarding cultural issues within music and across other areas of life and society.

"From today onwards we are Cultdreams. We're heading into the studio next week to record our second album and we're super excited about it! Thanks, and big love for your continued support. Conor and Lucinda, Cultdreams x"

Cultdreams turned plenty of heads with their 2017 debut album, with the pair receiving praise from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Total Guitar, She Shreds, The Quietus, Drowned in Sound, Louder Than War, New Noise, Substream, UPSET, Discovered Magazine, The Skinny, Alternative Press and many more.

On Seafoam, the band boldly and unflinchingly explored depression and PTSD whilst shining a light on harmful behaviour, sexual harassment and every-day misogyny in society. The release marked a period of emotional relief, change, and growth for the band, who have since been touring the material heavily throughout the UK, EU, Canada, and USA.

Details of new material and live dates for Cultdreams will follow over the coming months.
