Country singer Waylon
Payne has taken a winding road on his path to success. The release of his mid-2000s major label debut The Drifter should have been a triumphant moment for Payne, but instead it marked a drastic escalation of his decades-long freefall. Now he's returning on a high note with a 2019 Grammy Nomination for his songwriting with Lee Ann Womack
and a new album slated for release in the fall. Produced by Frank Liddell and Eric Masse (Lee Ann Womack, Miranda
Lambert) The Prodigal marks Payne's first in 15 years, and it offers an unflinching account of his journey to the brink and back, chronicling addiction, heartbreak, and estrangement.
