Listen: Chris Thile Talks With NPR's "The Thistle & Shamrock"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Chris Thile is the guest on the latest episode of The Thistle & Shamrock, NPR's program exploring Celtic roots music, which you can hear below. He spoke with host Fiona Ritchie from the Barbican Centre during Punch Brothers' recent tour stop in London. The band resumes its tour in the US next week, with special guest Gabriel Kahane, and Thile hosts his public radio show, Live From Here, from Carnegie Hall in New York City this Saturday for the hall's Migrations: The Making of America festival.

"The multi-Grammy Award-winning mandolinist, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter talks about his musical journey with Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, his public radio travels ... and his dazzling work in composition and improvisation, combining these two arts in his music making," says Ritchie in her introduction. They also discuss the Carnegie Hall festival, and Thile explores "how his music traces his roots into Scots and Irish traditional music, and like all American music has been enriched by the movements of people, learning, sharing, and exchanging with one another."

To pick up a copy of Punch Brothers' latest album, All Ashore, which earned the band its first Grammy Award last month, head to your local indpendent record store, Amazon, and the Top40-Charts.com Store, where orders include a download of the complete album at checkout; you can also download it on iTunes and listen on Spotify and Apple Music.
