The Latin Grammy Awards Go Platinum!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Latin Recording Academy today revealed a new version of its logo as part of its 20th anniversary celebration. The transition takes the Latin GRAMMY corporate logo from red to platinum in time for their 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. The Biggest Night in Latin Music will air Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, live on the Univision Network from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The three-hour telecast will begin at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central), preceded by a one-hour pre-show beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The nominees for the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be announced Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019.

The new branding for The Latin Recording Academy was designed by Blanco-Lorenz, an entertainment-branding firm that specializes in Latin media. The platinum logo replaces a brand that has been associated with the Latin GRAMMYs for nearly two decades, and from now on features a precious metal that has a centuries-long relationship with the Americas. Platinum was initially discovered in South America.

"In addition to symbolizing successful music sales, and having long, historic ties to Latin America, platinum is known for being a malleable metal, more ductile than gold or silver, and a chemical catalyst," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. "Platinum is the perfect representation of the Latin GRAMMYs for the next decade, celebrating a type of music that has learned to adapt to changing instruments, cultures, local roots, and fragmented environments, while keeping its credibility and integrity; and, yes, it has proven itself to be a catalyst for significant trends in the overall music world. We are embracing this new branding whole-heartedly as we look forward to kicking off our third decade with this milestone 20th anniversary celebration."
"We're excited and honored to celebrate the music that unites us during Latin GRAMMYs 20th anniversary this November 14th on Univision. Latin music has never been more popular and it continues to grow, delighting new audiences globally," said Jessica Rodriguez, CMO of Univision Communications Inc. and President/COO of Univision Networks. "This year's special 'platinum' edition of the Latin GRAMMYs will be an unprecedented showcase of our roots, our culture and our rhythms, and it promises to be one of the best shows yet."

The Latin GRAMMY Awards are part of a weeklong series of events celebrating a thriving community of music makers and culture. The award show is one of Univision's top-rated and most engaged music broadcasts, with the 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards reaching nearly 7 million viewers in the United States who tuned into to all or part of the live telecast last year. During the show's final hour, Univision attracted more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than broadcast networks ABC, NBC, and CBS, and overall, the 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards averaged more Hispanic viewers among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, and Adults 18-34 than the 2018 American Music Awards (ABC), Billboard Music Awards (NBC), and Country Music Awards (ABC).

In addition, the telecast reached tens of millions of viewers across more than 80 countries around the world and was the No. 1 social program airing for the entire day, garnering 4.2 million total interactions across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
