Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Rob Thomas, Joss Stone, Donna Summer, John Legend, Josh Groban and Robert Randolph Bring Down the House at the 'Save the Music: a Concert to Benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation'

NEW YORK (VH1) - VH1's biggest night of exclusive, high-voltage unforgettable performances returned to the Big Apple when Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Rob Thomas, Joss Stone, Donna Summer, John Legend, Josh Groban and Robert Randolph came together on stage for "Save The Music: A Concert To Benefit The VH1 Save The Music Foundation" which will air on VH1 Sunday, April 17 at 9PM*. Continuing in the tradition of events to benefit VH1's Save The Music Foundation, the star-studded concert taped at New York City's famed Beacon Theatre on Monday, April 11 with special appearances by Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, LL Cool J, Jermaine Dupri, Katie Holmes, David Duchovny and Christina Applegate.

Mariah Carey had 3,000 fans screaming her accolades during her electrifying performance of her new single "It's Like That," "I'll Be There" and a moving duet with John Legend of "With You, I'm Born Again." Alicia Keys gave a powerful rendition of "Karma," backed by a children's string orchestra, after which she paired up with Rob Thomas to perform the Bill Wither's classic "Use Me."

John Legend sang his hit "Ordinary People" and then went head to head with Joss Stone on a duet of the Rufus chart topper "Tell Me Something Good." Rob Thomas performed solo on "Lonely No More" and then acclaimed guitarist Robert Randolph joined Thomas on the Jimi Hendrix classic "Voodoo Child." Joss Stone belted out "Spoiled" and went on to sing a duet with Donna Summer on "Try a Little Tenderness." Josh Groban graced the audience with a performance of "Canto Alla Vita" and Donna Summer brought the crowd to their feet with a rousing rendition of "Last Dance." As part of a Rod Stewart tribute, Josh Groban, Donna Summer, Rob Thomas and John Legend sang a medley of "Downtown Train," "You're In My Heart," "Maggie May" and "People Get Ready." Then the legend himself performed "Hot Legs" with Joss Stone and was later joined by Groban, Legend and Thomas for "Stay With Me."

VH1 "Save The Music" will premiere on Sunday, April 17 at 9:00 PM.* It will repeat at 11:30 PM* that same night; Monday, April 18 at 9PM*; Tuesday, April 19 at 12PM*; Wednesday, April 20, at 11:30 PM*.

VH1's "Save The Music" concert raises funds for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music programs in America's public schools, and to raising awareness of the positive impact that music participation has on students. Since VH1 Save The Music was created in 1997, nearly $30 million worth of musical instruments has been donated to nearly 1200 public schools in 80 cities, improving the lives of more than 500,000 children.
