Lany + Julia Michaels Releases New Song "okay"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ahead of LANY's 40+ date North American tour kicking off tonight, the critically acclaimed band have released a brand new track with Grammy nominated artist Julia Michaels titled "okay." The track is Zane Lowe's World Record on Apple Music's Beats 1 - watch Paul Klein & Julia Michaels' FaceTime interview with Zane Lowe.

The anthemic song marks the band's first ever collaboration, which intertwines lead singer Paul Klein and Michaels' captivating vocals throughout. The duet co-written by Klein and Michaels in just two days, is filled with colorful details summarizing recent personal break-ups.

The group kicked off their 100 date 2019 World Tour - including a rapturous sold out night at London's Brixton Academy - earlier this year in support of their second album Malibu Nights, released October 5th 2018 via Polydor Records. The album was met with fan and critical praise alike with with the Sunday Times proclaiming the LP "wonderful," noting how LANY "nail the strange blend of euphoria, wistfulness and ennui" of Los Angeles, and The Sun calling it "[their] most honest album yet."

LANY are a Los Angeles-based trio comprised of Paul Klein (piano, guitar), Les Priest (keyboards, guitar), Jake Goss (drums.) The band formed in Nashville in 2014 and after relocating to LA shortly thereafter, they released their first set of songs by the end of that year. LANY have since built an incredible following touring across the world and have played over 350 live shows. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2017, which tied for the highest-charting debut album on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart that year. LANY's music has been streamed over 1.8 billion times as they continue to sell out venues across the world.

LANY spent 2018 crafting their second album, followed by another headline tour and playing Main Stage at multiple major festivals - including Coachella, Governors Ball and Bonnaroo - to critical acclaim. Rolling Stone crowned the group's Governors Ball performance as "The Best Stage Presence," and lauded LANY's star power as "out-of-this-world." The band most recently released their second album, Malibu Nights, on October 5th via Polydor Records; the record is filled with euphoric, epic anthems, a captivating coming together of joyous pop hooks and tender ballads, true to their distinguishing musical style. LANY are currently on their 2019 World Tour.

JULIA MICHAELS has transformed the pop music landscape not only from behind-the-scenes as one of the most in-demand songwriters, but in the spotlight as a solo artist as well. Her rapid rise can be attributed to identifiable honesty in every lyric, as exemplified in her triple-platinum selling debut single "Issues". In 2018, she garnered GRAMMY® Awards nominations in the categories of "Best New Artist" and "Song of the Year" for "Issues," which has nearly 2 billion streams worldwide. Continuing that success, "Issues" notably became "the top-selling debut single by an artist in 2017," and placed as the only solo female composition on Variety's "30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017."

As a songwriter, Michaels has co-written 21 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, eleven of which have hit the Top 40, including "Issues." Those songwriting credits include smashes like Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Selena Gomez's "Good for You" [feat. A$AP Rocky] & "Hands To Myself," and Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself." She's also written titles for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, P!NK, Maroon 5, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes and more.

MICHAELS most recently surprised fans with the release of INNER MONOLOGUE PART I. Upon arrival, the EP debuted at #1 on the iTunes Pop Albums Chart and #5 Overall iTunes Albums Chart. Michaels is currently on her first-ever headline tour, "The Inner Monologue Tour," and is gearing up to release INNER MONOLOGUE PART II. She is also on tour with P!NK for her "Beautiful Trauma World Tour" through May 2019.
