Music stores in cities across the country will celebrate classical music throughout April with live in-store performances by internationally renowned musicians and with in-store discounts and special offerings.
Customers will have the rare opportunity to attend intimate live performances by the Eroica Trio, Sarah Chang, Ronan Tynan and Yo-Yo Ma. Through Sunday, April 24, most Borders stores(a) will prominently feature titles that appeal to the classical music enthusiast, as well as to those just learning about this exciting genre. Borders customers can expect to see series such as the top selling "Most Relaxing" classical series, Universal's "For Your Life" series, as well as titles by well-known crossover classical artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Hayley Westenra and the 5 Browns.
Also featured will be core lines such as RCA Red Seal, Universal Classics, EMI's Encore and Sony Masterworks. Borders will also offer a robust selection of core catalog works. Approximately 300 titles are priced from $4.99 to $9.99, with all classical music CDs and DVDs on sale for 10% off the suggested retail price during this promotion.
Borders is offering an exclusive sampler of the highly anticipated self-titled CD by Il Divo for $0.49, plus tax. The four exceptionally talented young men that comprise Il Divo take popular songs, old and new, and blend them with traditional classical music styles and techniques. Customers who take advantage of this special offer will receive a coupon good for $5.00 off the purchase of "Il Divo" upon its United States release on April 19.
