New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Classic country gospel singer, Debbie Cochran, is excited to announce the release of her full length album, In A Heartbeat. Cochran penned the twelve songs on the album and recorded it under the direction of Grammy nominated producer, Kent Wells. This is Debbie's seventh full length album and follows the 2016 release of Born Again Wildflower which featured country legend
Dolly Parton on the title track. The album is available on iTunes and all other online retailers.
"I love Debbie's rich, honest voice and songwriting," says Kent. "Her music comes from her heart and is not contrived or filtered. That to me marks a true artist!"
The debut single, Children Make The World Spin Around, was released earlier this year and features Debbie's nieces Cameron and McKenna Arledge. Debbie reflects on the recording process with her nieces by saying, "someday, just maybe, this moment will be one of those good ole' stories told around the dinner table with family."
"In a heartbeat life can change. The lyrics in this album are tender stories shared by the wonderful people I have met during my travels," shares Debbie. "The songs are about loss, disappointment, love, letting go and where to find the strength to press on."
About Debbie Cochran
With musical roots in Alabama,
Texas and Arkansas (Cochran smiles as she claims, "three doses of southern draw") Debbie and her family would gather around the piano singing their original songs and beautiful harmonies. Those key based instruments opened the flood gates to a lifelong passion of instrumental and vocal discovery. Throughout her musical journey, Debbie learned to play the piano, mountain dulcimer, acoustic guitar and bass guitar while honing her talents as a songwriter.
Her style would be described as a golden gospel voice with traditional country undertones. Debbie anchors her sounds in her church reared impressionable years and her love of early
Reba McEntire and
Martina McBride tracks.
Debbie's dream of writing and singing songs on that "Nashville Stage" gave her the courage to open the doors to recording her very first album with Kent Wells (Dolly Parton,
Neal McCoy & Michael Peterson), who inspired the whole project with four simple but prophetic words, "It's Never Too Late," which was the first of Debbie's songs to play on the radio and also earned her the DisCovery Award given by Robert K. Oermann of
Music Row Magazine.
Before turning to the production ears of Kent Wells to guide her, the only outlet she had to share her music with the world was on a stage that her husband built in their hometown of Batesville, AR. When Debbie isn't on stage, she spends her autumn years traveling the world with her husband in an RV. Debbie's story and music is one that has spread smiles and serves as a testament to the vitality of the human spirit. She lives her lyrics every day that she steps in the studio, writes a new song or hits the lights center stage.
