Vegas drops his new EP Hartland St. today, via Wax Records. Hartland St. sees Virginia to
Vegas pair effortless vocals with his trademark synth-pop melodies, while his lyrics tell a story about each of the unique yet universally relatable phases of a relationship.
Of the new EP, Baker comments, "Hartland St. is an EP that reflects on the different stages of relationships, from infatuations to heartbreak."
Hartland St. comes out on the heels of Virginia to Vegas' newest single "Just Friends," which has already amassed over 2 million streams worldwide in just a few weeks. In addition, Hartland St. includes the radio hit "Selfish," which garnered Virginia to
Vegas a JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2018.
Virginia to Vegas, aka Derik Baker, is an American-born Canadian singer-songwriter. After being discovered on YouTube, Baker was signed to Wax Records in 2013 and released his first single "
We Are Stars" January of 2014. Baker is best known for his indie-pop choruses and sticky electronic melodies, which have awarded him critical acclaim and several platinum certifications. In 2018, Baker expanded his reach internationally, co-writing the single "IDWK" with blackbear and DVBBS. With new music dropping this summer and a busy tour schedule, 2019 is sure to be another promising year for Virginia to Vegas.
