New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Daughter of Swords, aka Mountain Man's
Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, has shared a new song, "Fields of Gold," from her upcoming album, Dawnbreaker. You can watch the lyric video, which features drawings by Sauser-Monnig and animation by Robert Edridge-Waks, below. Stereogum, which premiered the video, says of the track: "It shimmers and shines like a ray of light, a true field of gold if you will."
Of the song Sauser-Monnig says "'Fields of Gold' is a car song. It's about that beautiful sense of possibility you get when you're driving long distances and the facts of your life lift away enough to let you imagine parallel versions of your life playing out in all the unknown places you're moving through."
Dawnbreaker is due June 28 on Nonesuch Records and is available to pre-order on iTunes and the Top40-Charts.com Store with an instant download of the title track, "Fields of Gold," "Shining Woman," and "Gem"; Nonesuch Store pre-orders also include an exclusive, limited-edition print created and signed by Sauser-Monnig.
