Delbert McClinton Releases "Let's Get Down Like We Used To"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Delbert McClinton's swinging and swaggering celebration of Texas blues - Tall, Dark, and Handsome - will be released July 26 (Thirty Tigers), and today he's released another new song ahead of its debut. "Let's Get Down Like We Used To" celebrates life's simplest and best joys set to a slinky groove. The "Godfather of Americana" (Rolling Stone) will be touring from July into December, including a hometown album release show on July 26 in Nashville, and an appearance at Americana Fest in September. Full list of dates below.

"I'll make a batch of my famous margaritas / We'll get down on our hands and knees / We'll take turns takin' goofy pictures / Send 'em out to all our friends on Christmas Eve," Delbert sings. Delbert is now 78, and the album boasts a track list of completely new songs, all original and either written or co-written by Delbert, featuring his long-time band.

The record's first single "If I Hock My Guitar" was included in Rolling Stone's list of Best Country and Americana Songs To Hear Now, and its last single "Gone to Mexico," earned a premiere on Bluegrass Situation.

With over 60 years of recording and touring to his credit, McClinton is a true musical zelig: he toured with the Beatles, backed Bo Diddley and Howlin' Wolf, helped to inspire The Blues Brothers, and performed everywhere from SNL to Austin City Limits (both multiple times) along the way. His songs have been covered by Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Waylon Jennings, and Wynonna Judd - to name a few.
