Good Morning Presents Two New Singles & Announces Debut North American Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Good Morning - the Melbourne-based recording project of Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons - present two new singles, "Boy, I'm Just A Loser For Your Love" and "Take It Easy For Me, Stranger." In conjunction, they announce their first-ever North American tour.
"Boy, I'm Just A Loser For Your Love" is a song of laid-back pessimism. Parsons' vocals drawl over drifting guitar and gentle percussion as he sings about a faltering relationship. "'Boy, I'm Just A Loser For Your Love' is meant to be two things - a queer country song, and a synth country song", says Parsons. "It's definitely queer, and it definitely has a synth or two. Whether or not you could call it country is another thing, but hey, we tried."
Throughout "Take It Easy For Me, Stranger," Blair and Parsons' voices softly blend together, resulting in a gorgeously hazy track of crooning intimacy. "'Take it easy…' was recorded in a shop in Northcote, VIC. Lyrically it's directed to some crazy entitled person we met at a bar, although I doubt they will ever hear it," says Blair. "It's a reminder that no one person's life is anymore important than another's, and that anger and prejudice don't serve to benefit anybody."

Good Morning formed in 2013 when Blair and Parsons bought themselves a 4-track, and now have two albums and two EPs to their name. The band have consistently proven live favourites in their hometown, packing out headline shows, no matter how long it takes to remember to book them. Slightly belying their decidedly no-frills approach to recording and playing live, the band were recently heavily sampled on A$AP Rocky's "Kids Turned Out Fine," maybe the result of Instagram shoutouts from Tyler The Creator and members of The Internet. Their early EPs "Shawcross" and "Glory" defined the band's initial lo-fi, lazy and laconic sound, and have amassed over 36 million streams on Spotify alone.

Equally melodic and melancholic, the band's debut full-length Prize // Reward was the first time Blair and Parsons recorded and mixed a Good Morning release alone, and they developed a taste for production. Their independently-released second LP, The Option, is a 17-minute tumble through propulsive guitar melodies and lyrics of concise, casual poetry, recorded live to tape. The album is a product of its moment, keenly observant and unerringly catchy, introspective in its examination of contemporary anxieties and complacencies. Blair and Parsons share a delivery that laces each lyric with the appropriate measure of irony or sincerity. Good Morning write songs that are not to be underestimated, no matter what they tell you.
