The 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize Announces Final Live Performances For This Year's Awards Show
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize has announced the final live performances confirmed for this year's Awards Show - playing live are: Foals, Little Simz, NAO, black midi and Fontaines D.C.

They join: Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon, Dave, IDLES, Cassie Kinoshi's SEED Ensemble and slowthai to complete the line-up.

The 1975 are in the middle of their world tour and will be in Australia at the time of the Awards Show - they will be contributing to the Show with a filmed live performance.

The live show will take place on Thursday, 19 September 2019 at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith and will be hosted by BBC Music's Lauren Laverne.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac has been announced as guest presenter. Annie is a member of the 2019 judging panel and will be announcing the overall winner of the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize for 'Album of the Year'.

Annie Mac said: "It's always a great pleasure to be a part of the Hyundai Mercury Prize, but sitting on the judging panel in 2019 is no easy task. This year's shortlist celebrates such a refreshing and diverse representation of where British and Irish music is today. Presenting the award to this year's overall winner will be a fantastic moment, both for that artist and as a celebration of the album as an art form."

The Prize's broadcast partner, BBC Music, will be providing live coverage of the event on BBC Four TV from 9pm to 10.15pm - and on BBC Radio 6 Music from 7pm to 10.30pm, hosted by Tom Ravenscroft.

The new BBC Music Hyundai Mercury Prize Podcast brings together in-depth interviews with the shortlisted artists, talking about the musical and lyrical inspiration behind each of their records, and some of the themes they tackle. Twelve albums, twelve interviews, twelve episodes. These are the definitive interviews about these brilliant pieces of work. Listen on BBC Sounds.

The Hyundai Mercury Prize 'Albums of the Year' celebrate and promote the best of UK music, recognising artistic achievement across an eclectic range of contemporary music genres.

Hyundai Motor, the Mercury Prize's title partner, will be celebrating the shortlisted artists and continuing to support innovations in British and Irish music.

The Prize's digital music partner, Amazon Music, will be promoting the Hyundai Mercury Prize from the shortlist announcement through to the Awards Show in September. Amazon Music will also host the official Prize playlist featuring the 12 shortlisted artists and albums.
