New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Devendra Banhart stopped by WNYC Studios as the guest on New Sounds' Soundcheck today to talk with host John Schaefer about his new album, Ma, and perform three songs from it: "Is This Nice?," "Carolina," and "Taking a Page." "The folk songwriter, visual artist, and poet Devendra Banhart offers tenderness, introspection, and space in music, poetry, and art," says Schaefer.

Banhart heads to Rough Trade in Brooklyn this evening to spin some records in a DJ set and sign some of his own new album. He performs at Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California, next Friday and begins his tour in mid-October.
To pick up a copy of Ma, out tomorrow on Nonesuch, head to your local record store, Amazon, iTunes, and the Top40-Charts.com Store; the album can also be heard on Spotify and Apple Music.
