"What better way to celebrate than to have a massive costume party in the middle of downtown that connects people through music? We're grateful to be able to continue putting on this amazing event that's free, all-ages and accessible to everyone in the city." - Jeff Mitchell/Founder
Decks in the Park, the free music festival series that draws thousands to Klyde Warren Park returns for the sixth year this Halloween, Thursday
October 31, from 5:00-10:00pm with a lineup of acclaimed mixmasters. "What better way to celebrate than to have a massive costume party in the middle of downtown that connects people through music? We're grateful to be able to continue putting on this amazing event that's free, all-ages and accessible to everyone in the city," said Jeff Mitchell, founder and owner of Decks in the Park. Decks in the Park was developed from a passion for strengthening communities through music, underscored by the belief that music breaks down borders and cultural differences, laying fertile ground for unity in a positive, fun environment. Dallas' largest outdoor music series unites up to 10,000 people in one beautiful green space, Klyde Warren Park, in line with the 5-acre deck park's essence of a natural landscape that heals the fabric of the city. Top local and national DJs spin a variety of music genres from electronic, house, drum and bass, soul, classics on vinyl, funk, hip-hop, punk and more at the annual Halloween bash as well as other pop-up events around town. Venues include Wet Deck at The W, Victory Park, House of Blues Foundation Room and most recently, the new CANVAS Hotel's Gallery Rooftop Lounge, which hosted Decks in the Park events all summer long. "Decks in the Park offers a way for the community to show up, identify with one another through music and dance the night away," said Julio
Rivera aka S.O.U.L.Jah, emcee and talent manager. "It's an opportunity to give back to the city I call home," he continued.
