Elton John Surprises Fans At The Opening Of His Official #EltonFarewellTour Toronto Pop Up!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Global icon Elton John delighted fans when he made a surprise appearance at his first ever pop up! Elton greeted ecstatic fans at the#EltonFarewellTour Toronto Pop Up and personally signed copies of his first and only official autobiography, Me, for 20 lucky fans in the opening day queue.

The #EltonFarewellTour Toronto Pop Up, presented by Universal Music, Bravado, and Henry Holt & Co, opened today in downtown Toronto at 277 Queen Street West and will run until Saturday, October 26. The store features Toronto-exclusive merch and collaborations, plus daily in-store contests including today's opening day prize of a pair of tickets to Elton John's Toronto concert on Thursday, October 24. Fans can experience the Toronto Pop Up until 8pm tonight and from 10am-8pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Elton John, recently named the most successful performing solo male artist of all time by Billboard, will be performing two Toronto concerts this week as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour on Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24 at the Scotiabank Arena. Thursday night's show will mark the 25th Toronto tour date of Elton John's illustrious career. Ticket info can be found at EltonJohn.com.

In Elton's first and only official autobiography, Me, recently released on October 15, Elton John reveals the truth about his extraordinary life. Written with music critic Alexis Petridis, it is a no holds barred account from the highest highs of cultivating his musical genius, making it big and discovering his true sexuality, to his lowest lows being trapped by cross addictions to drugs and alcohol and an endless compulsion for sex and shopping, and being let down by those he needed most to love and respect him whether they were his parents, industry suits or strangers for a short time.

Elton John's career achievements to date are unsurpassed in their breadth and longevity. He is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time with 1 diamond, 40 platinum or multi-platinum, and 23 gold albums, over 50 Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 300 million records worldwide.

Elton John holds the record for the biggest-selling single of all time, "Candle in the Wind 1997", which sold over 33 million copies. Diamonds: The Ultimate Greatest Hits album reached the Top 5 on the UK album charts on its release in November 2017, becoming Elton John's 40th UK Top 40 album and is still currently #24 on the Top 200 in Canada after 100 weeks on the chart! This release celebrated 50 years of his songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin. Forging one of the most dominant musical resumes, John was named the Number 1 male solo recording artist of all time by Billboard in 2018. He has also written the music for stage and screen successes Billy Elliot: The Musical, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, and The Lion King, which was named the highest-grossing stage show or film release in the world.

To date, Elton has delivered more than 4,000 performances in over 80 countries since launching his first tour in 1970. Among the many awards and honours bestowed upon him are 5 GRAMMYs including a GRAMMY Legend award, a Tony and an Oscar, a Best British Male Artist BRIT Award, inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honors, Legend of Live Award, 13 Ivor Novello Awards between 1973 and 2001 and a knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II for "services to music and charitable services." In January 2019, he received the Crystal Award for this long-standing fight against HIV/AIDS at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In 1992, Elton established the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which today is one of the leading nonprofit HIV/AIDS organizations and has raised over $450 million to date in the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
