New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New York four-piece Loose Buttons have shared "Something Better" today, the title track from their upcoming debut album out February 7. The track is the centerpiece of an eight-song collection that expands on the band's "garage-rock good time" (VICE) sound, hailed by Billboard as "all their own." On Something Better, Loose Buttons team with The Strokes' longtime producer Gus Oberg to create a debut that doubles as a snapshot of the group growing into their own on their own terms. The record sees Loose Buttons fuse their "potent indie rock mix" (Nylon) with a narrative centered around fending off the lingering pains of the past and looming anxieties of looking forward to build something that's truly worth living for.

Something Better follows Loose Buttons' 2017 EP Sundays, which helped the band earn their first critical praise and play to larger crowds than ever, including sold-out hometown shows at 350-capacity Rough Trade and Baby's All Right. On Something Better, the band continues to draws heavily on their New York music community, including contributions from Oberg and Ava Trilling of Forth Wanderers, who shares vocal duties on the song "Fell Into A Hole." Much of the material on the record is rooted in lead singer Eric Nizgretsky's experiences growing up as a first generation American in South Brooklyn, while also leaning on the songwriting partnership he first formed with guitarist Zack Kantor at 10 years old. Enhanced by the standout rhythm section of Adam Holtzberg (drums) and Manny Silverstein (bass), Something Better ultimately centers on the healing power of community, and a perpetual appreciation for the New York scene Loose Buttons was fostered in.

To celebrate Something Better, the band have also announced pre-release shows at Elsewhere in Brooklyn and Boot & Saddle in Philadelphia, with more extensive tour dates to follow.
