New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "This song is dedicated to my dad Steve Salem. Although he passed early in my life his work has heavily influenced me and so it's no surprise that I have chosen to use this hook for my new single "Contact". RIP Dad"

Indie Westchester, New York record label What Celebs presents "Contact", the first single by the young, up-and-coming artist Norel. Inspired by the work of her father, Steve Salem, and his legacy in the music industry, her uptempo single is the latest success from the hit-making producers, Full Force. Norel is a Contemporary R&B artist who began her career in Westchester, New York. She developed her love for music at the early age of 5. Although shy as a child, Norel found ways of expressing herself through music and performing. She loved how music embodied her changes and growth as a person and artist. At just 16, Norel had learned to play the guitar and developed her voice and unique style as a songwriter. She was inspired by so many powerful figures in this industry, including Alicia Keys, Beyonce, and TLC. Her Father's accomplishments in music inspired and empowered her from a young age, proving to her that her aspirations were not out of reach. With enough tenacity, grit, and passion, instilled within her by her mother as well, she decided to fully immerse herself in her music. Norel is ready to show the world what she has spent her entire life working towards.

Norel's father, Steve Salem, was instrumental in turning Full Force into producers. They worked together to manage platinum artists like Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, with Steve himself going on to own multiple music labels. This includes the high-powered Motor Jam Records; a joint Elektra/Warner distribution deal that put out platinum artist Snow, best known for "Informer". Although Norel's father passed away when she was three years old, she grew up influenced and captivated by music. Through her father, Norel found her love for both old school R&B and contemporary R&B. Her single reflects that passion, combining R&B with an ambient Afropop-type beat.

Norel wrote "Contact" in her college dorm after a night of going out, writing the verse and bridge from the heart, and incorporating Lisa Lisa's, "I Wonder if I Take You Home" in the song's chorus. As an artist and music lover, Norel usually gravitates toward laid back R&B, and initially wrote the song to a slower melody. However, after a couple of months of sitting with the song, she decided it sounded better as an uptempo dance song. Full Force and Norel collaborated to come up with a sound that fit the vibe of the song and will have listeners hitting repeat over and over.

"Norel writing and singing this fantastic song and incorporating the chorus hook of our original song, "I Wonder If I Take You Home," is a great honor, especially since her beloved father, the late Steve Salem was ours & Lisa Lisa's co-manager at the time. It was Steve that encouraged us as a group to write and produce for other people. For us to produce this Record by his daughter, the talented Norel Salem, gives us great joy and happiness, as we know Steve is up in heaven smiling down upon us giving us that Heaven to Earth CONTACT."- Bowlegged Lou (Full Force)

Norel's first experience with writing was through poetry. While she found expressing herself through poetry to be fulfilling, applying that same level of devotion and passion to songwriting is when Norel fully realized what she wanted to do with her life. As the years went on, Norel encountered deep experiences such as heartbreak, grief, and needing to find strength against all odds. Her latest single "Contact" is just the first of many songs in her catalog that expresses all these feelings and more. Listeners who follow Norel throughout her musical journey won't be disappointed.
