New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-songwriter and 2019 EMA winner for Best Canadian Act, Johnny Orlando releases a cover of the highly-popular holiday track, "Mistletoe" by Justin Bieber on Universal Music/ Island Records. Alongside its release on Friday, Orlando premiered an accompanying video for the song yesterday via a live chat with his fans on his YouTube channel, which had 43K fans tuning in from around the world. In just three days, the cover has generated over 64K (Spotify) streams, and in one single day the video has amassed over 180K views.

Last week on Orlando's Instagram, he reiterated to fans that "This is the song that started it all for me 8 years ago… so I thought it was about time I released it properly. My version of #Mistletoe is out on all streaming platforms this Friday." Orlando's first cover of "Mistletoe" was posted to his YouTube account in 2011 and was one of the first videos that led to him being discovered.

During the live chat for the video premiere on Sunday, Orlando also announced a "12 Days of Giveaways" contest for one lucky fan that includes a combination of 12 physical and non-physical items ranging from a signed Johnny Orlando hoodie and vinyl, to exclusive behind-the-scenes "Mistletoe" footage and even a FaceTime call from Orlando himself. The contest runs December 14 through December 25. Stay tuned for full contest details and rules and regulations.

Last month, Orlando released a remix of his current single "All These Parties" with Canadian DJ and electronic dance music producer Felix Cartal, who has worked with the likes of Diplo, Swae Lee and Lights. The original version of "All These Parties" was produced by Hampus Lindvall (credits include Zara Larsson and Icona Pop) and is the follow up to Orlando's smash hit, "Waste My Time" off his debut EP, Teenage Fever (March 2019). Since its release earlier this year, the EP has garnered over 82 million streams, and overall Orlando has garnered a staggering 305 million streams to-date.

Also last month, Orlando took home his first-ever MTV Europe Music Award (EMA) in Seville, Spain for Best Canadian Act. Fellow nominees for the fan-voted category included Shawn Mendes, Avril Lavigne, Carly Rae Jepsen and Alessia Cara. Previous recipients of the Best Canadian Act award include Shawn Mendes, who held the title most recently for three years in a row from 2016-2018, and Justin Bieber, who received the award for three consecutive years from 2013-2015.

After amassing over 305 million total streams within three years, garnering acclaim from the likes of Paper, and taking up residence in the hearts of countless fans worldwide, Toronto-born and Los Angeles-based Juno Award-nominated singer and songwriter Johnny Orlando fully realized the scope of the dynamic signature style he first hinted at in 2015.

Emanating confidence and charisma over danceable electronic grooves and a subtle hip-hop bounce, he levels up his take on pop with the 2019 Teenage Fever EP [Universal Music/Island Records].

He quietly made strides towards establishing this identity by way of numerous international hits. 2018's "What If" (feat. Mackenzie Ziegler) clocked 109 million-plus global streams and over 21 million music video views in under twelve months, captured #1 on the musical.ly Global Song Chart, and landed on the Spotify Viral 50 in 33 countries. He received praise from Billboard, Variety, Teen Vogue, Just Jared Jr., Tiger Beat, and more in addition to performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Most recently, he garnered his first-ever Europe Music Award for Best Canadian Act at the 2019 EMAs in Seville, Spain, and along the way, he garnered a nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2019 JUNO Awards as well as nods at the Kids' Choice Awards, iHeart Much Music Video Awards, and Teen Choice Awards.

Orlando (now 16) is at the forefront of the next generation of Canadian artists impacting a global music stage, touring the world with co-headlining and sold-out North American and European tours, a recording deal with Universal Music/ Island Records and a dedicated fan base of more than 16 million engaged fans.
