Countries Where The Casino Industry Is On The Rise
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Historically there have always been a few countries in the world where the casino industry has properly been allowed to thrive, and this is largely down to laws and regulations. For instance, during the 19th Century a lot of gambling was cracked down on across Western Europe, until it had been made illegal pretty much everywhere. However Monte Carlo remained separate from these laws, and it thus turned into the gambling capital of the world - visit and play online casino.

Nowadays things are largely different - the casino industry has a much better relationship with the law as a result of a string of regulations that have actually helped the market grow if anything. The casino industry has also experienced a profound shift to the online sector, and in order to see which countries are currently experiencing a casino boom it is this part we are going to have to focus on. Let's have a look at some.

USA Casinos

Okay, the casino industry has always been pretty monolithic in the US, but it was only recently that laws were relaxed when it comes to online casino, and since then this sector of the market has experienced a profound growth. Before 2013 online gambling could be a tricky business in the states, they lacked something like The Gambling Act 2005 that we have over in the UK, and therefore the market found it a lot harder to grow.

After 2013, however, things changed and the US online casino industry was allowed to blossom just like it did on the other side of the Atlantic. The USA now ranks number one for actual spend on the casino market - can you believe it?

Australia Online Casino

Before the online casino explosion Australia wasn't a country that was particularly synonymous with casino culture, preferring to gamble away on sports than on things like Roulette. Fast-forward into the 21st Century, however, and the land down under has experienced a massive growth in online gambling, with developers and players all getting in on the party.

A 2017 study in Australia even found that their citizens were spending the most money per head on average whilst gambling, solid proof that these guys really cannot get enough of the popular past-time. And anyway, with the most disposable income per head in the world can you really blame those crazy Aussies?

Singapore

South East Asia has always been a hotbed for gambling, just look at places like Macau. But here's the thing: gambling has been a purely land-based activity in these places until quite recently - the online slot expansion really knows no bounds. Again there is a similar story here; it is mainly down to the loosening of regulations that the Singapore market has undergone genuine expansion.

The Singapore government undertook a lengthy study in 2017 that sought to highlight how the online casino industry was making an impact on its citizens, and they found that just over half of the population over 18 had played an online casino game at some point in the last year.
