Parachute For Gordo Reveal Video For 'White Noise Bear (I Am The Horse)'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Instrumental post-rock band Parachute for Gordo are today pleased to reveal a video for their brand new single, 'White Noise Bear (I Am The Horse)'. The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming new LP, Best Understood By Children And Animals, set for release on 14th February 2020 via Beth Shalom Records. The trio recently revealed a run of February 2020 UK tour dates to coincide with the album release, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).

'White Noise Bear (I Am The Horse)' is an abrasive, raw, octave chug-driven minute-and-a-half Parachute for Gordo version of a pop track—band who usually play with the long form, annihilating the senses with this brief banger. Riff-resistant guitarist Laura Lee channels noise heroes Sonic Youth, Melt Banana and even the punk-electro of Peaches into this explosive slice of doom, lyrically inspired by a surprising, influential night in Amsterdam.

The single is completed by a live session version of hit single 'Hog in a Trough' and Part III of the Onomatopoeia Suite, 'Wail of the Blobfish', continuing the series of experimental improvised music, this time a synth journey led by Marky G. 'White Bear Noise (I Am The Horse)' is accompanied by a special limited 5" vinyl plus secret bonus track. A CD of the full Onomatopoeia Suite will be on the bonus extended release of the upcoming album vinyl on Beth Shalom Records.

Best Understood by Children and Animals is the fourth album from the underground veterans, recorded by producer Mark Roberts (Delta Sleep, The Physics House Band) at Brighton Electric.

After having self-produced their previous albums on a shoestring budget, Best Understood By Children and Animals is Gordo's first foray into a professional studio environment. This new approach has allowed the band to develop their sound in every direction to make something more expansive, intense and intricate than ever before.

More info on Best Understood…:

The new album was recorded by Mark Roberts (Delta Sleep, The Physics House Band) at Brighton Electric. After having self-produced their previous albums on a shoestring budget, Best Understood By Children and Animals is Gordo's first foray into a professional studio environment. This new approach has allowed the band to develop their sound in every direction to make something more expansive, intense and intricate than ever before.

Lead single 'Markhor Parkour' was released in October 2019—a twisting slice of math-pop that builds to a shimmering, joyous conclusion. In a nod to the CD singles of their youth, 'Markhor Parkour' was accompanied by two b-sides: a live session of 'When I Was A Teenage Manta Ray' from the band's debut album, and 'Clap Clap I'm a Seal', the first part of the band's experimental Onomatopoeia Suite that will see further instalments on later singles.

The album's title, Best Understood by Children and Animal, comes from a quote by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky and sums up Parachute For Gordo's approach to music; delighting in play and experimentation with an emphasis on exploring dynamics beyond language and literal meaning. It is music for the senses: immediate, vital, subconscious. The album artwork has been designed by Mari Hallo-Aho and features a painting by bassist John's daughter Beatrice (age 1). The artwork for the accompanying singles was also created by Mari's young nephew, Sulo (age 4) celebrating the innocent creativity of children.

Based in the cultural capitals of Aldershot, London and Berlin, since 2012 the band have been known for their playful, intimate live shows and an ambitious DIY approach to creating their musical projects. They have played live with household names from the instrumental scene including And So I Watch You From Afar, Poly-Math, Gallops, The Physics House Band and Adam Betts' Colossal Squid.
