New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, PJ Morton shares The Piano Album, his fifth self-released LP in less than three years. Just like his previous, Grammy-winning live album Gumbo Unplugged, Morton made this new record in one night, one room, and one continuous take, each song capturing the spirit of a spontaneous jam with a group of his closest, most talented friends. But now, he strips away the strings and breaks his most beloved songs down to just keys and voice.

In limiting production to the tracks' two essentials, Morton demonstrates the pair of constants that continue to propel his prolific career, from professionally writing gospel songs as a teenager, to now reaffirming his own role as "one of music's most inventive, intrepid virtuosos" (Interview Magazine).

After becoming the first-ever artist to receive the GRAMMY nomination for Best R&B Album three years in a row, Morton won his second consecutive Award last month. In the weeks since, he's appeared on Fallon with Rapsody and Colbert with Jon Batiste.

Morton will keep rolling out new music this year, including The Gospel According to PJ, a project reinterpreting the numerous hits he's penned for the genre, plus a monthly series of singles he's creating with rising producers and writers signed to Morton Records. He will also continue his work restoring the home of New Orleans jazz legend Charles "Buddy" Bolden.
