Alternative-Pop Songstress Leanne Tennant Shares 'Everspin' Single!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 'Everspin' is the latest single from UK born singer-songwriter Leanne Tennant, released on February 20th via LT Records. Premiered on KCRW, the single was recorded and produced by Yanto Browning (Amy Shark, The Belligerents) at Airlock Studios in Brisbane with the help of Mark Anthony Maher, aka Kram, from iconic Australian Rock act Spiderbait and surfaces in the wake of the highly successful 'Bring It All Back' single. 'Bring It All Back' premiered by Atwood Magazine, was producers pick on BBC Radio, and has subsequently been picked up and set to air on all British Airways flights from February 2020 on their #nextbigthing in-flight show. Leanne has received support from the likes of Rolling Stone, CLASH Magazine, Popdust, AU Review's Australian Artists Of The Year, BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson and Mark Riley, KCRW, Amazing Radio's Charlie Ashcroft, Triple J Unearthed and Double J Radio. Her sound has graced the airwaves across the globe and her talents have been showcased at a number of festivals, including BIGSOUND and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. May 2020, will see Leanne Tennant bringing her live sound to the UK.

In 2018, Leanne was awarded the prestigious Carol Lloyd Award which enabled her to re-enter the studio and record a new body of work. 'Cherry Cola', the first single from her new album which premiered and gained high rotation on Double J Radio, took Leanne to the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition in 2019 and she has received two Queensland Music Awards in the 'Blues & Roots' category, in 2017 for 'Gentle Annie' and in 2015 for 'Bearing The Crown', and was nominated for a third QMA in 2019. 'Bring It All Back' has been nominated for two QMAs in 2020.

Leanne Tennant was born in Ellesmere Port in England, however, as a small child, she and her family relocated to Papua New Guinea before settling in Australia in the 90's. Her parents enjoyed music, exposing Leanne to the music of Phil Collins, Paul Simon, Bob Marley and the Beatles. After moving to Australia - Leanne started cutting her teeth on guitar and found her obsession was writing her own songs and getting the melodies out of her head. Her dedication to the art has seen her tour as support and work with artists including but not limited to Cold Chisel, Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe), Ash Grunwald, Emma Louise, Keb Mo and Colin Hay. Her superb abilities as a singer-songwriter find company amongst the likes of Brandi Carlile, Courtney Barnett, Kacey Musgraves, Phoebe Bridgers, and Julia Jacklin.

Exhausted at the end of a tour, Leanne Tennant walked into Sydney's Chinatown Mall and sat with her headphones on: "I felt very still, deflated and happy at the same time, watching the busy world spin by.'' She began writing lyrics to capture her complicated emotions and that gave life to 'Everspin', the third extraordinary single previewing her forthcoming album. Recorded live in one day, 'Everspin' serves as a testament to Leanne's uninhibited songwriting and natural ability as a performer. A warm, rolling bassline, plucky guitar and tight percussion, courtesy of Spiderbait's Kram, set the stage for Leanne's ever-impressive vocals that sit sweetly in the highly articulate mix. The melancholic lyrics are delivered with a cool conviction, providing a perfect balance to keep the tone uplifting and resulting in a song listeners can truly empathize with.

"Everspin is about being stuck in a blur of activity yet you still appear to be standing still," says Leanne, "It's about putting in all your efforts to be seen and heard yet those efforts continue to go unnoticed. Stuck in the noise. It was inspired by how I was feeling at the time about the music industry and how difficult it is to earn a living as an artist."
