New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Parsonsfield have shared "Now That You're Gone" today, a track from their upcoming album Happy Hour On The Floor (April 3) that serves lyrically and symbolically as a testament to starting anew. Anchored by electronic drums and bass riffs seeped in melodic fuzz, "Now That You're Gone" is perhaps the best example of why WNYC's John Schaefer has said that this new collection "represents a sort of Parsonsfield v2.0." The band also have shared their "Now That You're Gone" music video, which was shot entirely in one take and finds lead singer Chris Freeman on an exuberant strut through Boston's North End neighborhood.

Previously described by NPR as making "the most jubilant and danceable indie roots music this side of the Carolinas," Parsonsfield display an expanded sonic pallet on Happy Hour On The Floor rooted in their renewed energy for exploring and experimenting. In the aftermath of line-up changes and uncertainty about the band's future, this creative revival originated when Antonio Alcorn, who primarily plays mandolin, picked up the bass guitar for the first time and began experimenting in ways that a trained bass player never would.

Ultimately, this sense of wonder became the guiding force behind Happy Hour On The Floor, and quickly led them to a host of dreamy synthesizers, hypnotizing loops, warped pianos and vintage drum machines. With the bass part of "Now That You're Gone" at the core of this transformation, the song celebrates a new era of Parsonsfield while also serving as the backbone for their next chapter.
