New York, NY (Top40 Charts) From writing a number of guitar tutorial books published by Italian publishers, Carisch, to having a successful career as a session musician in Italy (playing, producing and arranging several soundtracks for TV and film) Gabor has experienced great success, not to mention a healthy solo career as a musician in his own right! Gabor Lesko's new album, Fingerfusion Project is a majestic demonstration of Gabor's talent as a writer and as a guitar virtuoso. Taking on elements of Jazz, Prog and Rock and amalgamating them together effortlessly, the album is, as Gabor suggests himself, some of the finest work of his career!

Having fought against a seemingly incurable back condition which threatened to put an end to his guitar playing for good, Gabor has built a career out of his amazing playing, meeting and collaborating with some brilliant musicians along the way as well as playing shows and showcases such as NAMM. Pulling together an all-star band for the new album: Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Judas Priest, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore among others), Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets, Blackjack, Ronnie Wood), Mario Guarini (bass player on many Italian TV shows), Andrea Cocilovo, Eric Marienthal (Chick Corea Elektric Band) and Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Andy Summers), the new album is a work of art.

An exploration of both thoughtful and emphatic guitar playing, focused primarily around Gabor's flawless acoustic playing, Finger Fusion also showcases Gabor's Steve Vai-esque amped-up mastery. Gabor and his band skirt on the edges of jazz, highlighted with some brilliant sax courtesy of Eric Marienthal, but ultimately take more of a progressive approach with moving time signatures and fluid chord structures that keep the listener on their toes.

As Gabor says: "The decisive and progressive oriented drumming, mixed with my finger-style and acoustic fusion influences definitely created a new sound"

Gabor's guitar talents are undeniable (he has even pioneered his own form of sweep picking without a plectrum) but this album is full of thoughtful composition - it's well worth seeing Gabor play live to experience it for yourself.
