New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Troye Sivan releases the new single, "Take Yourself Home", via Capitol Records/Universal Music.
Originally set for release later in the year, Troye considered the song in a new context as he headed home to Australia and a period of isolation.
"'Take Yourself Home' is one of my favorite songs I've ever written," says Troye Sivan. "The song is kind of a pep talk with yourself and the place you're from. Grappling with your place in the world. I write these songs as a diary entry, then as life and places change and relationships change, songs can take on a new meaning entirely. Clearly that has happened for this song, with what is going on in the world right now."

Realizing that many freelance artists have struggled to find work in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Troye put out a call for creatives to develop visual elements for the rollout of "Take Yourself Home". In an Instagram post, he said, "FREELANCE ARTISTS (GRAPHIC DESIGNERS, ANIMATION ARTISTS) HMU I WANT TO WORK WITH YOU AND TAKE THE MONEY I WOULD BE SPENDING ON MUSIC VIDEOS AND GIVE IT TO YOU."

Featured in such publications as PAPER, i.D., Buzzfeed, NME and Billboard, the response was overwhelming. The visuals for the pre-save page, lyric video and other elements were sourced from artists who responded to Troye's solicitation.

Troye has also launched three t-shirts, designed by @jacktaylorlovatt and @Lanning and sourced via Instagram, with all proceeds to be donated to WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and Spotify's COVID-19 Music Relief project.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic.

The Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project recommends verified organizations that offer financial relief to those in the music community. The project is currently partnering with MusiCares, PRS Foundation, Help Musicians, Support Act and Unison Benevolent Fund, and is adding more partners worldwide.

Troye co-wrote "Take Yourself Home" with frequent collaborator Leland (Selena Gomez, BTS, Charli XCX), Oscar Görres (The Weeknd, MARINA, Tove Lo) and Tayla Parx (Khalid, Ariana Grande). It was produced by Görres, who also helmed Troye's Gold-certified hit "My My My!" from Bloom and "I'm so tired…," his Platinum collaboration with Lauv. "Take Yourself Home" perfectly captures a mood of isolation and longing. The song builds from a lilting opening refrain with Troye's trademark melancholy into expansive, rave-like choruses with a surprise deep-electro moment to close.

While social distancing at home in Australia, Troye continues to connect with fans. Last week, he performed on #HAPPYATHOME: Live!, TikTok's global livestream series.

In his career to date, Troye has amassed more than 6.7 billion combined global streams. His sophomore album, Bloom (Capitol Records), was named as one of the best albums of 2018 by critics at Rolling Stone, USA Today, Billboard, OUT, NPR Music, The Guardian and numerous other publications. TIME said, "Troye Sivan is the perfect pop star."

His numerous awards include a Billboard Music Awards trophy, three MTV Europe Music awards and two GLAAD Media wins. "Revelation" - his collaboration with Jónsi for the film Boy Erased, which Troye co-starred in - was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song - Motion Picture and shortlisted for an Oscar. "Louder Than Bombs," a track Troye co-wrote, is featured on the new BTS album, Map of The Soul: 7, which debuted at No. 1 in the U.S., Korea, Australia and around the world last month.
