(Launch) - Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge is currently recovering from a bout with the flu that has forced her to cancel all of her scheduled public engagements through July 27, including several planned book and album signings. On July 10, Etheridge released her seventh solo album, "Skin," and her new memoir, "The Truth Is... My Life in Love and Music," which she wrote with Laura Morton, is also out now. Etheridge is expected to be well again by the time her Live...and Alone tour kicks off Aug. 6 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. Here are canceled events: - 7/18 Long Beach, Calif., Tower Records album signing. - 7/19 Los Angeles, Virgin Megastore album signing. - 7/23 Atlanta, Borders book signing. - 7/24 Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Borders book signing. - 7/25 Vancouver, British Columbia, Virgin Megastore album signing. - 7/26 Seattle, Tower Records album signing. - 7/27 Berkeley, Calif., Tower Records album signing.
