Chicago R&B Artist Matt B Shares New Single "I Spoiled You"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Chicago R&B artist Matt B serves up another delicious treat, with his new single "I Spoiled You". A silky-smooth R&B pop track reflects on an unbalanced relationship, as bittersweet lyrics reflect "baby, I spoiled you", realizing where it all went wrong. VENTS Magazine premiered the single, sharing "the beats alone will hook you in from the get-go, with its haunting yet sexy vibe that captures the mood and melodies of the mid 00s with some subtle hits to Cee Lo Green and Justin Timberlake." "I Spoiled You" teases a taste of Matt B's upcoming album EDEN, due out next year.
Producer and Grammy award winning engineer Sam Thomas and Tricky Stewart presented the track to Matt while in the studio. "I instantly fell in love with it because it was so different and in a lane that I typically don't go down but wanted to explore," shared Matt. "The melody lines were crazy, and the lyrics could go over your head if you don't listen to them. I had a lot of fun recording the record, but it took a lot of vocal control."

Lyrically, the track provides a bittersweet realization of a relationship that has gone wrong. Matt sings to the issue, reflecting on a relationship where an unhealthy balance is created, built from a lack of accountability. Caring quickly spoils into resentment, realizing it's time to move on. "Balance comes from within," was Matt's advice on the subject. "You can't force another person to change based on your own expectations, you have to start with yourself and analyze your own mistakes and shortcomings in the relationship. So if you want a balanced relationship, you have to be the balance that you desire. The law of attraction says that you attract what you are, so it starts with you."

Showcasing his upper range and precise vocal control, "I Spoiled You" lands as another R&B gem, as Matt prepares for the release of his upcoming album. With a number of impressive achievements under his belt, including international hits, Matt B is no stranger to success - but stays true to his craft, by continuously striving to grow as an artist. His recent singles all show an exploration to step outside of his comfort zone, while challenging himself musically. Due out in 2021, EDEN will serve as his debut U.S. album release; it also includes notable collaboration from Bryan-Michael Cox. Matt teased, "EDEN is the beginning of something greater. I'm putting all of me into this project and showcasing who I am as an artist now. I'm like fine wine baby, I get better with time!"

Under the Priority imprint, he released his 4-track EP 'RISE' in April 2018—which was produced exclusively by Bryan-Michael Cox—and it collectively received over a half million streams on Spotify. His single 'Ain't Too Proud' charted at #4 and #67 in Taiwan and Japan respectively on Apple Music, and also charted at #35 in Latvia on Spotify. In the winter of 2018, Matt B decided to expand his passion for philanthropy and started his now annual 'Holiday Cheer Tour'. The first tour was a massive success with Matt visiting over 16 cities across the country performing to sick children in hospitals, donating toys and clothes, and performing at several Christmas festivals. In 2019, Matt B partnered with Sofar Sounds for a 16-date nationwide tour that spanned across eleven cities in the US. Following the tour, Matt had his nationwide television debut as he performed at the 2019 Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, which is the third largest parade in the country. In an effort to keep the momentum, he then released his EP 'No Days Off' in December of the same year. "This project truly reflected how I feel as an artist, I never take any days off," Matt said, "I'm always on the grind and trying to reach the next goal. This EP also gives straight vibes from my city, which is something I'm very proud of." 'No Days Off' also features GRAMMY-award winning poet and current president of the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy - J. Ivy.

As of 2020, Matt B is preparing to release his debut US album, which features production from GRAMMY-winning legends Bryan-Michael Cox and Tricky Stewart. The first single from the album, 'Go Hard', was released May 2020. The single charted #83 on Deezer and #129 on Apple Music in Egypt and Bulgaria respectively. His second single, 'Deep', released July 2020 and amassed nearly 150K streams in less than a month. "For this particular project, we were focused on telling my story in a way that not only resonates with the listener, but also gives R&B a new, fresh sound while staying true to myself," Matt said on his new album, "The album will take the listener on a journey into who I am as a person, what I've been through in my life, and more." As the world awaits for the 2021-slated release of the album, Matt B continues to pave his own path in the mainstream industry. On his future goals, Matt said, "I'm not focused on numbers, fitting the mold, or sounding like everybody else. I just want the world to feel my energy. And if that energy impacts at least one person in a positive way, I'm successful. No number can give me that."
