Director Jed Gaylin directed and produced a 17 musician Bay Atlantic Symphony Chamber Ensemble that will be performed in a virtual concert Sunday, October 18th at 2 pm.
With the PNC Arts Alive grant, we will be able to continue our outreach to our diverse and culturally rich region of Southern New Jersey, through both virtual and live performances as appropriate," said Bay Atlantic Symphony Executive
Director Brian McPeak.
The Bay Atlantic Symphony is one of just 30-40 organizations in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region selected for financial support through PNC Arts Alive.
PNC Arts Alive is a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant initiative of PNC and the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. Now in its twelfth program year, PNC Arts Alive challenges visual and performing arts organizations to put forth their best, most original thinking in expanding audience participation and engagement. In 2020, more than 40 arts organizations from across the Greater Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware region were selected to receive PNC Arts Alive program support -including several first-time grantees, through a newly expanded initiative to support smaller, community-based arts and cultural organizations.
New audience development for its concert season and expanding music mentorship and outreach to underserved communities including students in Atlantic, Cumberland and Cape May counties motivated the Bay Atlantic Symphony to seek renewal of its PNC Arts Alive funding.
"The Bay Atlantic Symphony has a long-established relationship with PNC Arts Alive and with this grant that relationship is strengthened," said Bay Atlantic Symphony Executive
Director Brian McPeak. "During these extraordinary times for everyone, live cultural organizations are particularly challenged to perform and reach their audiences. With the PNC grant, we will be able to continue our outreach to our diverse and culturally rich region of Southern New Jersey, through both virtual and live performances as appropriate."
"At a time when it's never been more needed, the PNC team is excited to once again support arts and cultural organizations in the Delaware Valley. We've long recognized just how vital the arts and cultural sector is to our community," said Joe Meterchick, PNC regional president for Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey. "The arts play a critical role not only in our daily lives but in supporting our local economy. The arts and culture have the power to bring people together, whether gathering in person or for a virtual event, and help us process and express our shared experiences."
